I am pleased to report that we are fortunate to have secured the rights to redistribute the High-Performance Java Platform Computing book, originally published by Prentice Hall PTR in the Sun Microsystems Press. We hope that you find our book to be useful. With the advent of the multicore era--the modern approach to symmetric multiprocessing, which we cover in the book--the ideas of the book now seem more relevant than ever.

We are planning to re-release and refresh this book (under Creative Commons licensing) as soon as we can extricate the source files created by the more-or-less defunct FrameMaker program (RIP).
